On Oct 19th Sunday, all members of our team, set out to Maandalapatti. Our team has one new member- Praveen, who happens to be a wildlife expert also. Now we have become seven[brothers and cousins]. We reached the place where the jeeps going to Maandalapatti are parked. There is a fork in the route to Abbe falls from Madikeri, where another road leads to Maandalapatti. We hired one of the Jeeps and reached the peak area.
The road is almost non existent, only 4 wd Mahindra jeeps can save us! At the first stop we halted to have some shots:
There is a welcome arch at the top of the hills , which I suspect to has been there from 2009 onwards since the movie 'Galipata' was released and number of visitors increased.
We stopped near the arch and clicked some pics here and there.
Standing there- Shreenivas, Pavamana, Anand, Yadavakumar, Padmanabha and Praveen.
Shreenivas shooting Padmanabha and Pavamana with the backdrop of the hillock. In the background is the Vehicle stand at the top of the hills. The tree at the centre of image is said to be the one on which the Kite-'Galipata' was stuck.
The peak of Maandalapatti.
The Pushpagiri mountain range, which extends upto Subrahmanya.
While returning we visited Hattihole for having some foods, after which
shot some photos. Here I stopped shooting and others continued.
It was some years back, I had dreamt of coming here [Maandalapatti] but went on postponig it due to my health condition. Alas! I have arrived here, but want to come a couple of times more in the future.
